THE 2009 LOTTO CLASSIC RACE DAY

 

THE 2009 LOTTO CLASSIC RACEDAY was launched in the Trainer's Room at Caymanas Park on Wednesday, May 13, 2009. The raceday is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Caymanas Park.

 

Mr. Paul Hoo (Chairman) and Sonia Davidson (V.P. Group Corporate Communications) spoke on behalf of the sponsor Supreme Ventures Limited, while Mrs. Millicent Lynch, (Executive Manager, Marketing) and Mr. Denzil Miller Jr. (Racing Secretary), spoke on behalf of the promoter, Caymanas Track Limited.

 

Supreme Ventures Limited has once again teamed up with Caymanas Track Limited the sole promoters of Thoroughbred Racing in Jamaica by sponsoring the Thirteenth Annual Lotto Classic Race Day.  The races are scheduled for Saturday May 23, 2009 at Caymanas Park and is also the first of four (4) race days being sponsored by Supreme Ventures Limited in 2009. The other three (3) exciting race meets will be highlighted by the ultra rich 2-Y-O Triple Series starting on October 17, continues on November 28 and ends on December 26, 2009.

 

Supreme Ventures Limited will be contributing a total of $1,200,000 to the purses of eleven (11) races on Lotto Classic Day.

 

The race day will offer:

 

  1. THE LOTTO CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY - A race for $180,000 claimers for Three-Year-Olds and Upward over 1200 metres for a purse of $465,000, which includes $100,000 from the sponsor.

 

  1. THE LOTTO CHALLENGE TROPHY - A Restricted Allowance III Race for Four-Year-Olds and Upward over 1500 metres for a purse of $530,500, which includes $100,000 from the sponsor.

 

  1. THE LOTTO DASH TROPHY - A Maiden Race for Native-Bred Two- Year-Olds over 600 metre (s) for a supreme purse of $650,000, which includes $100,000 from the sponsor.

 

  1. THE LOTTO RUSH TROPHY - A Restricted Stakes Race for Native-Bred Three- Year-Olds and Imported 3-Year-Olds  and Upward over 1100 metres for a purse of $650,000, which includes $100,000 from the sponsor.

 

  1.  The 13th running of THE LOTTO SPRINT TROPHY (GR.I) - A Handicap race for Native -Bred and Imported Three-Year-Olds and Upward over 1100 metres for a purse of $1,250,000, which includes $150,000 from the sponsor.

 

In this first million Dollar Sprint Race for the season; OUTSTANDING is expected to renew rivalry with AHWHOFAH while SUPER DAVE, GOOD CITIZEN, THE GUARDIAN, HIGH ROLLER and RIGMAROLE are expected to start.

 

  1. The 69th running of THE LOTTO CLASSIC (FOR THE GOVERNOR'S CUP) (GR.IR)  - A Futurity race for Native-Bred Three-Year-Olds over 2000 metres for a total purse of $2,700,000, which includes $400,000 from the sponsor.
