THE 2010 LOTTO CLASSIC RACE DAY

 

 

THE 2010 LOTTO CLASSIC RACEDAY was launched in the Negril Suite at The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston on Thursday, May 13, 2010.

Mr. Paul Hoo (Chairman) and Mrs. Sonia Davidson (V.P. Group Corporate Communications) spoke on behalf of the sponsor Supreme Ventures Limited, while Mr. Christopher Armond, (Acting CEO/ Director of Marketing) and Mr. Denzil Miller Jr. (Racing Secretary), spoke on behalf of the promoter, Caymanas Track Limited.

 

Supreme Ventures Limited has once again teamed up with Caymanas Track Limited the sole promoters of Thoroughbred Racing in Jamaica by sponsoring the Fourteenth Annual Lotto Classic Race Day.  The races are scheduled for Monday May 24, 2010 at Caymanas Park and is also the first of four (4) race days being sponsored by Supreme Ventures Limited in 2010. The other three (3) exciting race meets will be highlighted by the ultra rich 2-Y-O Triple Series starting on October 18, continues on November 27 and ends on December 27, 2010.

 

Supreme Ventures Limited will be contributing a total of $1,200,000 to the purses of eleven (11) races on Lotto Classic Day and a new Trophy for The Lotto Classic (Gr1) was unveiled.

 

The race day will offer:

 

  1. THE LOTTO CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY - A race for $180,000 claimers for Three-Year-Olds and Upward over 1200 metres for a purse of $538,000, which includes $100,000 from the sponsor.

 

  1. THE LOTTO CHALLENGE TROPHY - A Restricted Allowance III Race for Four-Year-Olds and Upward over 1500 metres for a purse of $616,600, which includes $100,000 from the sponsor.

 

  1. THE LOTTO DASH TROPHY - A Restricted Allowances II for Native-Bred Two- Year-Olds over 600 metre (s) for a supreme purse of $815,000, which includes $100,000 from the sponsor.

 

  1. THE LOTTO RUSH TROPHY - A Restricted Allowances II  Race for Native-Bred Three- Year-Ods Fillies over 1200 metres for a purse of $815,000, which includes $100,000 from the sponsor.

 

  1.  The 14TH running of THE LOTTO SPRINT TROPHY (GR.I) - A Handicap race for Native -Bred and Imported Three-Year-Olds and Upward over 1100 metres for a purse of $1,470,000, which includes $150,000 from the sponsor.

 

In this first Major Sprint Race for the season; SAINT CECELIA is expected to renew rivalry with HONEYOFALADY and MINISTER OF JUSTICE.

 

  1. The 70th running of THE LOTTO CLASSIC (FOR THE GOVERNOR'S CUP) (GR.IR)  - A Futurity race for Native-Bred Three-Year-Olds over 2000 metres for a total purse of $3,300,000, which includes $400,000 from the sponsor.
