THE 2009 IMPULSE RACEDAYS
Senator, The Honourable Arthur Williams (Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance) was present and spoke on behalf of the Government. Mr. Wayne Boyd (Sales Coordinator, Impulse Jamaica) spoke on behalf of the sponsor, while Mr. Denzil Miller Jr. (Racing Secretary), offered the racing details and Mr. Christopher Armond (Director, Chairman CTL Advisory Council) gave the promoter's remarks.
On behalf of the entire industry, we take this opportunity to thank IMPULSE JAMAICA on this; their inaugural Sponsorship in Thoroughbred Racing. The sponsorship is valued at $450,000 to purses and this will be divided equally for three races over three race days.
THE FIRST RACEDAY will be on Saturday, October 24, 2009 and will feature "THE IMPULSE JAMAICA 3-Y-O SPRINT TROPHY" for Native-Bred 3-Y-O Non-winners of two races lifetime over 1300 metres for a purse of $850,000.
THE SECOND RACEDAY will be on Saturday, November 21, 2009 and will feature "THE IMPULSE ENERGY MILE" for Native-Bred 3-Y-O and Imported 3-Y-O and Up Non-winner of three races lifetime over 1600 metres for a purse of $850,000. THE THIRD RACEDAY will be on Saturday, December 12, 2009 and will feature "THE IMPULSE ENERGY DRINK CUP" for Native-Bred 4-Y-O Non-winners of three races other than maiden and/or Maiden Claiming over 1200 metres for a purse of $650,000.
