CHAMPION CTL CLAIMING SERIES OF RACES
The Champion CTL Claiming Series of Races which is being sponsored by Champion Betting Company Limited was launched in the Trainer's Room at Caymanas Park on Tuesday, July 14, 2009.
Mr. Dennis Chin-You (Director) spoke on behalf of the sponsor Champion Betting Company Limited while Mr. Christopher Armond (Director, Chairman of Advisory Council) and Mr. Denzil Miller Jr. (Racing Secretary), spoke on behalf of the promoter, Caymanas Track Limited.
On Wednesday, July 29, 2009, Caymanas Track Limited in association with Champion Betting Limited will launch the Champion CTL Claiming Series of Races.
This sponsorship has a total value of $2M in purses and bonuses.
The series will feature one race per month for the Claiming group $220,000 to $$190,000 and will run from July 2009 to July 2010.
Each race will offer a purse of $500,000 inclusive of $83,500 from the sponsor Champion Betting Limited.
The race will be based on a points system of 20 points for a first placed finish, 15 points for a second placed finish, 10 points for a third placed finish, 7 points for a fourth placed finish, 4 points for a fifth placed finish, 2 points for a sixth placed finish and 1 point for a seventh place or lower finish. At the end of each six month period, a bonus totaling $500,000 will be awarded to the top two Owners, Trainers, Jockeys, and Grooms of the series as follows:-
