THE 2009 SEEK (back to school) RACE DAY

 

 

Distinguished guests, Media Representatives; Representatives from Book Empire Limited; Caymanas Track Limited; also Representatives from the Trainers, Jockeys and Grooms Associations; good morning.

 

On behalf of the entire industry, I take this opportunity to thank BOOK EMPIRE LIMITED on their Sponsorship in Thoroughbred Racing scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2009. The sponsorship is valued at $200,000 to purses.

 

The feature event will be the SEEK EXERCISE BOOK TROPHY over 1300 metres for a purse of $705,000 (inclusive of $100,000 from the Sponsor Book Empire Ltd.) for Open Allowance Horses with the possible starters being:

The purses of two other races on the card will also benefit from Book Empire Limited's sponsorship:

 

  1. The Restricted Allowance II for Native-Bred three-year-Olds (Non-winners of two races lifetime) and Imported three-year-olds and upward (Maidens and Untrieds) will be the Seek Double Line Trophy over 1500 metres for a purse of $600,000 (inclusive of  $50,000 from the sponsor Book Empire Limited).

 

  1. The Claiming $180,000 for three-year-olds and upwards over 1100 metres will be the SEEK EMPLOYEES TROPHY for a purse of $415,000 (inclusive of $50,000 from the sponsor Book Empire Limited).

 

The day will also feature Race #2 in the very lucrative Champion/CTL Claiming Series for the Claiming Group $220,000 - $190,000 for three-year-old and upwards over 1400 metres for a purse of $500,000.
